Canterbury, the official kit supplier to the Irish Rugby team, has revealed the new Ireland Rugby Home and Alternate jerseys that will be worn throughout the 2018/19 season.

The simplified and streamlined all green Home jersey will be worn for the first time when Ireland travel state-side to face Italy in Soldier Field on November 3^rd, while the Alternate jersey in teal green with dark blue accents makes its debut against the United States on November 24^th in the Aviva Stadium.

The product of Canterbury’s Innovation Lab, the Ireland Home and Alternate Test jerseys are designed to perform in the heat of battle where every line break, bind and change of direction has the potential to change the course of a game and season. The removal of stretch fibres increases jersey strength while the all new green low-profile neckline eliminates distraction, increases comfort and sets new standards with a 1,100 Newton breaking point. The end product is the most technically advanced Ireland jersey ever boasting enhanced strength, durability, flexibility, player comfort, moisture wicking and weatherproofing.

The range, available to purchase from October 1^st in-store and online, offers supporters a wide range of replica and teamwear options that will see them stand out from the crowd.

The NFL season is well and truly underway, with 3 game weeks already flown by. Peoples NFL Fantasy teams may be cast aside by now but the interest in the season is just starting to build. There have been some fantastic games and some even better stories generated, with the Cleveland Browns finally breaking their long losing streak, not once but twice with their record standing at 1-1-1. The Miami Dolphins have also made a fantastic start to the season, starting win 3 wins on the bounce which was somewhat unexpected. The defending Champions the Philadelphia Eagles are also going along nicely having won twice and lost once.

The perpetual pre-season favorites and last years Super Bowl runners up the New England Patriots have not started the season as they would have liked. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’S men have started the season with one win and two defeats. They do have cause for optimism though as Tom Brady seems to always get it right and will most likely drive his team mates forward in the coming weeks. They have also secured the services of highly rated wide receiver Josh Gordon from the Cleveland Browns. If he can get his fitness 100% right, he will be some weapon for the Pats’.

Other team who have made 100% winning starts to the new season are the Kansas City Chiefs who are being inspired by Quarter Back Patrick Mahomes. He is on a hot streak and no one would back against him to keep it up. The LA Rams have also got off to a flyer, inspired by running back Todd Gurley. This man is so difficult to curtail when he gets going and here at Intersport Elverys Towers we can see the LA Rams going a long way this season.

It feels like the World Cup has just finished but the new International season is about to kick off. After missing out on another World Cup journey as a result of a play off defeat to Denmark, the Republic of Ireland will have a chance to gain revenge on the Danes as the two teams have been paired in the same group in the brand new UEFA Nations League competition. Wales make up the final team in the group, a team who the Boys in Green faced in their World Cup Qualification group.

Later on today, Ireland face off against the Welsh in Cardiff. The Irish team is going through somewhat of a transition at the minute, with a lot of the older lads having sailed off into the sunset (they retired). This gives the younger squad members a chance to make their mark. The team has not been helped by the situations with Declan Rice and Harry Arter, as well as the injury to James McClean but it will give others the chance to step up. This team has always fought for the cause and tonight’s match will be no different.

Ireland are coming up against a Welsh team looking for a fresh start. After getting to the Semi Final of Euro 2016, they failed to make an impression on World Cup qualification, finishing behind Serbia and Ireland. However, they have appointed Ryan Giggs as their new manager and with players of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey’s quality, they will cause a huge threat.

The NFL season kicks off this week as reigning Superbowl Champions the Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons. Here at Intersport Elverys Towers we are very excited by this, apart from the late night games which will cause a few people in the office to have some very sleepy heads on them, some mornings.

Did you know that the NFL is one of the fastest growing sports in term of viewership in Ireland? A huge contributing factor to this spike in popularity is down to the NFL Red Zone on TV which makes viewing the NFL far more exciting, letting the viewers see every score and big moment live in every game opposed to having to sit through 3 plus hours of one game. In addition, the NFL Fantasy football makes it very easy to get to know all the best players, as well as keeping people interested in each game. Warning, it may also cause WhatsApp arguments between mates.

Some of the teams we are most looking forward to seeing this year are the New England Patriots, Greenbay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders. The main reason we are looking forward to seeing these teams in action is down to the fact that we love their jerseys.
