Ireland Look For A Perfect November

After a fantastic year, which includes winning the Grand Slam and beating Australia in the ‘Tour Down Under’, Ireland look to continue their fantastic form in the November Guinness Series. These are 4 games which will be the ideal preparation for the team for the upcoming 6 Nations and more importantly the Rugby World Cup which kicks off in September next year. Shop IRFU Training HERE.

Ireland 54 – 7 Italy at Solider Field, Chicago.

On Saturday, Ireland started off the series perfectly with a big win over an Italian side lead my Conor O’Shea. At the scene of the teams famous win over New Zealand 2 years ago, Ireland took a while to get into their stride. However, in the second half they let loose and Full-back Jordan Larmour, making his first Test start, scored three of Ireland’s eight tries, with Tadhg Beirne also crossing twice for the Six Nations champions. It was a prefect way to start the series. Shop IRFU Jerseys HERE.

What lies ahead in the coming weeks will be much more difficult. Argentina, New Zealand and the USA stand in the way of Ireland over the next 3 weeks. Most people think that the last game against the USA will be used as an experimental game for Joe Schmidt and his side. However, the two games over the next two weekends will be massive. This Saturday, The Pumas stand in Ireland’s way. The same side that knocked the Irish out of the 2015 World Cup at the Quarter Final stage, so Schmidt knows all too well the threat that they will pose.

Everyone knows that you cannot look more than one game ahead in international rugby, but next weekends clash against the All Blacks is on everyone’s lips. Ireland did manage to beat them for the first time ever in Chicago two years ago on a scoreline of 40-29. The men in green will be hoping to be the first Irish International team to beat New Zealand on Irish soil. Of course, the All Blacks have lost to an Irish team in Ireland before, when in 1978 Munster beat them. With all that being said, the two teams that take to the pitch in just over a weeks time will not care about history. They are the two best teams in World Rugby at present and will both be eager to prove they are the best in business. It could be a classic! Shop All Blacks HERE.

SKINS Compression | The Benefits

Walk into any gym or GAA training session in the country and your probably going to see a few people sporting compression gear. Ask them why and they’ll likely tell you it’s to keep them warm. But unknown to the masses, compression gear has many benefits outside of simply keeping the Winter chill off.

Now available at Intersport Elverys is the latest range of SKINS compression gear.

What is SKINS?

SKINS provide DNAmic Gradient Compression across the major muscle groups, with the highest compression applied at the calf and gradually decreasing towards the heart. The DNAmic Compression Technology is applied in a targeted dynamic manner, to maintain the integrity of the compression during exercise.

Benefits of SKINS compression gear:

  • Increases muscular strength and power:

Enhances ability to perform explosive movements both with or without load in anaerobic exercises.

  • Improves muscular endurance:

Increases ability to maintain high work rate in aerobic exercises.

  • Accelerates recovery:

Ensures you get back on the pitch, court, track, road or bike sooner.

But how exactly does it do this?

  • Increases muscle oxygenation.
  • Increases blood flow velocity.
  • Increases venous return.
  • Removes lactic acid faster.
  • Reduces exercise induced muscle damage (EIMD).
  • Improves body temperature control.

Summary

In conclusion, SKINS compression gear helps you efficiently train and decreases recovery time.

SKINS compression gear is recommended for any power or endurance athletes to improve performance.
