The World Cup: Superstars And Their Jerseys

As every dog in the street knows, the little matter of the World Cup is peeking around the corner and excitement is building nicely, none more so than in Intersport Elverys towers! With Martin O’Neills men not making it to Russia, we’re sure everybody will be picking their “second-favourite” team to get behind, based on the arbitrary notion of a nice jersey or what global superstar they feature. Given this, we’ve decided to showcase 4 superstars that could set the tournament alight and more importantly, take a closer look at the beauties of jerseys they will be donning.

The 4 players that we eventually decided on were, Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo and Pogba. These four will hope to be the catalysts that drives their country to glory.

The adidas Argentina Home Jersey for the 2018 World Cup takes inspiration from the 1993 jersey, which was the last time an Argentinian team lifted silverware. That team was inspired by striker Gabriel Batistuta. Many think that there is only one man who will inspire the current side to glory this summer and that man is Barcelona legend Lionel Messi. He will be hoping to win his first international trophy, after so many close shaves including losing the 2014 final against Germany. This slick jersey is backed with climacool® technology which wicks sweat from the body to keep you cool and comfortable.

The Nike Brazil Home Jersey for the 2018 World Cup follows on from the team’s traditional bright yellow jerseys from the past. There is much expected from this Brazilian team, after their humiliating 7-1 defeat to Germany in the semi finals of the last World Cup which was held in Brazil. So much of the expectation will land of the shoulders of PSG superstar Neymar. The world’s most expensive player, still only 26, already has 53 international goals to his name and will be hoping to add a few more while in Russia. This vibrant jersey brings team pride details, such as a woven crest, together with performance elements like Nike Breathe fabric with a highly breathable construction to help you stay dry and cool.

The Nike Portugal Home Jersey for the 2018 World Cup is in the traditional Portuguese red colours. The current European Champions go into the World Cup somewhat under the radar, with many Pundits not expecting too much from them. However, any team with Cristiano Ronaldo in its ranks will always pose a massive problem for opponents. The current World Player of the Year scored 15 goals in qualifying and if he can continue that form, Portugal will go deep into the tournament. On the jersey itself, the neckline minimizes seams for a smooth feel, Raglan sleeves allow a natural range of motion and also has a highly breathable construction to help you stay dry and cool.

The Nike France Home Jersey for the 2018 World Cup is a more of a darker blue than previous jerseys. The European runners up have a young and vibrant team which is brimming with talent, making them many people’s tip for the Championship. In a team full of potential superstars, Paul Pogba is the name that sticks out most. He is a player with undoubted talent which was evident when Manchester United paid a then World Record fee of £89m for him in 2016. If Pogba can realise that potential this summer, he could well be the driving force behind France winning their 2nd World Cup. The France jersey has an eye catching zig-zag knit pattern on the sleeves, the FFF colours and woven crest along with performance elements like Nike Breathe fabric with a highly breathable construction to help you stay dry and cool.
