The All Ireland SFC Semi Finals

After a long Summer of football which has seen a huge change in the structure of the Championship, we are down to the last four! The 2018 All Ireland Champions will come from either Dublin, Galway, Monaghan or Tyrone. This weekends football action is lined up to be a cracker. We are going to have a closer look at the two games.

Dublin vs Galway

Time: 5PM Saturday  Venue: Croke Park  Watch: RTE and Sky Sports

The first Semi Final on Saturday evening is a repeat of this years Division One final, where Dublin ran out winners. The Dublin juggernaut just keeps rolling on, having won all their games in the Championship this year. They seamlessly introduce new players onto the team, year after year, and it does not affect them one bit. They are heavy favourites to progress to the final, but Galway will be a tough nut to crack we suspect. The Tribesmen will be hurting after their 8 point defeat to Monaghan in Salthill last weekend, but they knew they had already qualified for the semi final. If Galway can replicate the form they have shown for most of the season, they could put it up the the Dubs. It will be fascinating to see how this one unfolds!

Monaghan vs Tyrone

Time: 3.30PM Sunday  Venue: Croke Park  Watch: RTE and Sky Sports

Monaghan and Tyrone go head-to-head on Sunday at 3.30. The two teams have already clashed in this years Ulster Championship, with Monaghan coming out on top by 2 points. However, Monaghan went on to lose to Fermanagh in the Ulster semi final, which was a sizeable shock. However, they did regroup to come through the qualifiers and to win their their tough Super 8’s group consisting of Galway, Kerry and Kildare. That is no mean feat. On the other hand, Tyrone will be looking for revenge against their Ulster rivals after the defeat in May. Tyrone have been improving with every game and their bench could prove the winning of the game after clocking up an average of 8 points per game recently. This game is not to be missed and it is so difficult to predict who will win it.
