All Ireland Hurling Final

It’s hard to believe, but the All Ireland hurling final takes place this Sunday at Croke Park. Galway and Limerick face off in Hurling’s showpiece event and it is sure to be an intriguing battle. The 2018 season has been one of the best on record, with pundits, fans and even people with a passing interest watching on with awe and delight. The pace and intensity of most of the games has been a joy to behold. Hopefully Sunday’s final will be just the same and have everyone glued to the game. As official retail partner of both counties, everyone at Intersport Elverys cannot wait for the ball to be thrown in.

Galway are the defending champions after beating Waterford in last years final on a scoreline of 0-26 to 2-17. The Tribesmen are aiming to win the 6th All Ireland Hurling title in their history. They also claimed their second successive Leinster title in-a-row this season and after a titanic battle with Clare over two games in the semi-final, will feel that they are battle hardened and experienced enough, to bring the Liam MacCarthy over the Shannon once again.

Limerick are back in the All Ireland Final for the first time since 2013 (where they lost to Clare) and have not won the Liam MacCarthy since 1973. Limerick will feel that their time has come and their young vibrant team will give all they can to ensure that. They county has won the U21 All Ireland in 2015 and 2017, with many players from those two teams coming through to make up the current senior team. Galway will be well aware of the treat that this Limerick team poses. The whole county of Limerick waits in anticipation.
